Leaked Best Buy Document Exposes Sprint iPhone 5 Launch in October and Presales Possibly This Week

This is GREAT news that BGR just broke yesterday, as I have been waiting forever to get the iPhone on T-Mobile so I no longer have to jailbreak and unlock it, and so I can finally enjoy 3G (or 4G if the iPhone 5 supports it) speeds, and not have to rely on Wifi to avoid dial-up like download speeds on my iPhone.

This is definitely a hopeful sign. In case you’re not familiar with the Micro SIM card, the iPhone 4 is the only cell phone that uses the Micro SIM (as far as I know). It was Apple’s way of trying to keep the unlockers from using the phone, although humans always find a way, don’t we? But the fact that T-Mobile is now selling/offering it makes my day, as it is a step in the right direction.

But we’re not there yet, as there has been no mention of T-Mobile getting the iPhone 5. Although if Sprint gets it, T-Mobile better get it, or someone whose name rhymes with “sleeve” will be getting a passionate email from me. ;p I’ll still love the guy, though.

Since AT&T might buy T-Mobile (Sprint is still trying to block the takeover), T-Mobile should pretty much be guaranteed to get the much anticipated iPhone 5. Only time will tell.

Some more great news is that BGR just updated their blog post with the news of their Best Buy source saying that it is very likely that presales for the iPhone 5, including Sprint’s version, will start this week!

Of course, those who take advantage of this will still need to wait until October to get this amazing device in their hot little hands, or should I say, our hot little hands. I have heard in the past, though, of preorders arriving sooner than those that are launched in the store. That would be very cool.

With regard to the above leaked doc from Best Buy (assuming it’s legit, which is a good assumption seeing it’s coming from BGR), the giant electronics retail chain must get a tighter security on those internal docs, as we all know how Apple feels, and what they do about the lack of security for their upcoming products, as well they should.

If you can’t read the text in the doc, which is in the gray row, right below the yellow row towards the top, here it is:

BBYM: iPhone 5 product introduction expected, pre-sales begin for expected October week 1 launch/Sprint launches iPhone 5
(Apple product introduction/launch dates subject to change)

Whether or not T-Mobile gets the iPhone 5, I’m still getting it, of course. Couldn’t live without my iPhone, and the iPhone 5 is going to rock.
