Is your desktop mic that’s plugged into your line-in input not working on your Mac?

Do you have a desktop mic like this one from Plantronics, http://is.gd/ju7W, that works fine with your PC, but not your Mac?

Here’s why:

It’s because Mac’s line-in inputs only work with mics that have their own power source. So what’s the solution besides spending more money than you need to on a mic that has its own power source? Get a USB desktop mic. The one I would suggest is this one by Logitech: http://is.gd/f1Q1
