Google Analytics sometimes takes a while to see the analytics code if using a WordPress plugin

Today I installed the Google Analyticator WordPress plugin in my Internet marketing blog, and it took longer than expected for Google Analytics to see the coding on my site.

How long did it take?

It took about 1 to 2 hours. I’ve installed it before on other blogs, and Google Analytics saw it pretty quickly (within 10 minutes). But for whatever reason, this time it took a longer time.

The great thing about having a WordPress plugin for Google Analytics is that it makes it very easy to install Google Analytics. You do not have to edit any of the pages of your WordPress theme. You just enter the your UA ID, which you get from your Google Analytics account, into the plugin settings page, and then select values for the other options that it mentions on the plugin page, which are pretty much set to the value that you want already anyway. Then you just click “Save Changes” and you are good to go!

But again, you may have to wait up to an hour or two for the caution sign to go away in your Google Analytics account for that domain (the caution sign says that it does not see the correct coding for Analytics to work yet). It will eventually turn into a green check mark.

By the way, if you are not tracking the stats of your blog or website, then I HIGHLY suggest that you do. You cannot know where you are going if you don’t know where you are. And you must track your progress. That is an absolute necessity. If you don’t, then you will never grow and never improve, or at least you won’t know about it.

There are many stats software programs out there, but the best one is Google Analytics. The stats program that Google uses used to cost thousands and thousands of dollars, but they bought it and made it free for all of us. Gotta love Google! So take advantage of Google’s generosity and install Google Analytics on your blog or website today! It only takes a copy & paste and a few clicks!
